I wish Buhari Goodluck
On January 28, 2015, a 15-foot shark with a gaping mouth was washed up on a beach in Burias Pass in Albay and Masbate provinces, central Philippines. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Albay province will investigate to determine the cause of the shark's death.
However, in over 3 occasions within the last 6 years in Lagos Nigeria, sharks have been washed ashore only for our people to butcher them and eat without finding out what is the cause of its death or how it came about.
These have continually shown that poverty mindset has crushed the pride of an average Nigerian. Even if the devil uses sorcery to provide anything synonymous with food, a Nigerian will take, eat and do his bidding. Little wonder that our politicians have continually shown that stomach infrastructure will always bring them the desired political results.
Taking a close look to choose whom to vote for in the Nigerian Presidential Election 2015 between his Excellency, Mr. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (PGEJ) and the Ex-Military Head of State, General Mohammadu Buhari (GMB) is like making a choice between the lion and the deep blue sea. If you decide to go the lion path, you will be devoured alive and on the contrary, if you opt for the deep blue sea, you will drown.
So as Nigerians decide to go to the polls on the 14 of February 2014, who is really better? PGEJ has allowed so many Nigerians to continue to die without making any tactical resolve to bring to end the uprising of Boko Haram, thereby making him the bloodiest civilian president that has ever ruled Nigeria.
GMB on the other hand may be linked to the uprising in the North since his last failure to win the 2011 presidential election, some may argue on the contrary but I still wonder what will make a General to cry on national TV. The aftermath will ever be fresh in the minds of some families that lost somebody in the wake of the crisis.
My resolve! As long as we continue to allow religion and tribal sentiments to cloud our minds, Nigeria will continue to retrogress. Who cares if a pilot is a Muslim or a Christian? Who cares if the footballer is an Ijaw man or Fulani? What we only care for is for us to arrive at our destination safely or win the match. PGEJ cannot change the lives of the common man, neither will GMB under the stronghold of Senator Bola Tinubu make any difference. So what do we do?
Let us pray for the Election Day and ask God to give us the right heart to make the right decision. I will vote, but will I vote for PGEJ or GMB, I still don’t know!
God bless Nigeria, God bless us all. Julius Macaulay
