THE CHANGE WE DESIRE
There is a plundering going on in our nation. The very few have hijacked all that is meant for the citizens. Life expectancy ratio is on the decrease. These very few who under their professed loyalty to the development of the country are actually sycophants enriching themselves, looting the treasury of the nation, embezzling the wealth that should bring sustainable development to the nation are the ones saying EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT.
How alright is everything? The Nigerian resilient nature is being turned to mockery. “Leave them say, they will adjust and adapt”, but the fact remains that as long as the pressure continue to mount, agitation will build up and gather momentum, and then the only way out will be A REVOLUTION. In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, until the lead revolted, the change and balance they wanted never came.
Revolution some say is the fool’s way out that result in no significant evolution. Permit me to say; it might not right all the wrong, it might not better the whole economy, it might not create immediate wealth for the masses, nor provide the much desired basic amenities like electricity supply, good roads, fully equipped hospitals, good school facilities, but I can assuredly say it will usher in a crude change at a cost that a nation like Nigeria will never want to experience again. The cost will be high, but the gains thereafter will far more outweigh the cost.
The apartheid revolution in South Africa brought in a change within a decade that transformed the country into the pride of Africa we look to today. For as long as we keep silent, fold our arms, and close our eyes to see the ills and abnormality in this supposedly great nation called Nigeria, these very few mask men will continue to plunder and destroy the quality of life we are suppose to enjoy.
Arise o’ compatriot, Nigeria’s call obey. Let say no to suffering and smiling, let every youth and young man in this nation unite so that together we can demand for the joy of having democracy since our leaders are refusing to let it come to us. RIGHT TO GOOD EDUCATION, RIGHT TO EMPLOYMENT, RIGHT TO BETTER LIFE, RIGHT TO BASIC AMENITIES, RIGHT TO ACCOUNTABLE LEADERS, RIGHT TO JUSTICE, RIGHT TO FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS, RIGHT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE. NO TO RELIGIOUS CRISIS, NO TO ETHNICITY, NO TO TRIBALISM, NO TO CORRUPTION AND GREED, NO TO NEPOTISM.
The change we all desire will only come if Nigerians stand up, and cry out with one voice.
Together we can stand. Things will always fall apart when the center cannot hold.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA AND NO OTHER PLACE !!!
